For users who have access to metered or modeled AC output data from the PV system of interest, GridPIQ supports the upload of a data file. The output data should be hourly average output power incorporating all PV system losses incurred before the point of interconnection with the larger power system. GridPIQ supports the upload of PV system generation data in Watts (W), kilowatts (kW) or megawatts (MW).
This uploaded time series data is then subtracted from the pre-project load profile on an hour by hour basis. In other words, the hourly output data from the PV system are treated as negative load values and superposition applies. Once the post-project load profile is created using this subtraction method, the context of the system is considered and the range of impacts estimated. This procedure is illustrated in the flow chart below.
