The pre-project uncoordinated charging behavior is specified by uploading custom charging profile data. The charging profile consists of average hourly charging rates per electric vehicle in kW and is scaled by the number of participating electric vehicles before being added to the pre-project load profile. Since charging behavior is different on weekdays and weekends, charging profiles have two typical hourly charging series: weekday and weekend.
The profiles shown in the figure below come from the EV project. The EV Project collected and analyzed real-world EV charging data to characterize EV use and owner behavior. Data from the EV Project are used to create EV charging profiles based on different charging schemes, and can be downloaded below. To use one of these profiles in GridPIQ, download it from this page, and upload it at the Uncoordinated Charging Profile step.
